In 2015, Andrea Bosetti and three friends decided to tap into the worldwide obsession that people have with their smartphones. The quartet created an innovative phone cover that taps into that obsession and allows their customers to personalize their own cases. Cover Store -- specializing in smartphone covers with lots of slots for logos, messages, and more -- first opened with one location outside the city of Brescia in Italy. As word spread about the product, Cover Store quickly became one of Italy's most successful phone accessory businesses.
Andrea credits Facebook for propelling Cover Store from one small shop to more than 100 dotting Italy and Spain. “From the very start of this venture, Facebook was instrumental in marketing our business -- even with a tiny budget,” Andrea says. “Facebook also made it easy to showcase Cover Store's unique personality.” Andrea credits Facebook tools, such as their Facebook Business Page and Insights, as being essential to understanding the preferences of Cover Store's customers. These insights drive the direction of new products -- 80 percent of which are Cover Store's own brand. The business also uses Facebook to communicate with customers about new product launches and for product research.
Andrea says 90 percent of Cover Store's income is the result of interactions on Facebook. According to Andrea, the return on their investment from Facebook is 300 percent. From its modest beginnings with four employees, the brand now has 180 employees in two countries. In addition to the two Cover Store locations that are now in Spain, plans for the brand include penetrating further throughout Europe without losing its unique style. In addition, Cover Store expects to open another 50 stores over the next two years.
